While there has always been a steady demand for various healthcare positions worldwide, the post-pandemic era has seen an even greater upsurge with specific medical fields predicted to be in high demand until the next decade.
So, for healthcare students or professionals who are looking to pursue new opportunities in their career, TrueProfile.io, a platform that provides Filipino healthcare professionals around the world with the tools they need to secure a lucrative career abroad, lists down the top five most sought-after healthcare positions in the coming years.
Medical Assistants
They will most likely be needed in most healthcare facilities, which include assisting doctors in various tasks such as taking the patient’s vital signs, administering medication and injections, scheduling, and helping out doctors with different medical tests and procedures. Not only that, but they will also be responsible for assisting medical staff in recording and maintaining patients’ healthcare and personal records.
Registered Nurses
Registered Nurses continue to be in high demand globally as the role of Registered Nurse involves a wide range of patient care. Registered Nurses also have the potential to specialize and retrain in any field within medical care. Known for the vital work they do within patient care, Registered Nurses will continue to be in high demand for hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics.
Nurse Practitioners
The position of a Nurse Practitioner is a highly in-demand job for 2023 because of the renewed focus on disease management and prevention. They are trained to help patients manage their conditions and/or take preventive measures to reduce or prevent risks for certain conditions.
Nurse Practitioners have more autonomy than general registered nurses as they have the training to diagnose and treat patients with medical conditions. Those applying for this position must complete a master’s or doctorate program on top of their registered nurse training.
Occupational Therapy Assistants
Developing countries with aging populations highly need Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) or aides as most of these patients would likely develop chronic conditions. The rehabilitative services of the OTAs, which include helping patients develop, maintain, or recover skills necessary for daily living and working; and offering support to occupational therapists will greatly help in improving the quality of the aging patients’ lives.
Respiratory Therapists
With respiratory health becoming one of the top concerns during the pandemic, it’s no surprise that the demand for respiratory therapists became high, and will continue to do so in the future. Their tasks and responsibilities are needed in various medical settings such as acute care health facilities, diagnostic laboratories, patient transport systems, wellness centers, patient homes, sleep disorder centers, educational institutions, and long-term care facilities.
Physicians
In June 2020, the American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) predicted a shortfall of between 54,000-139,000 physicians in the United States alone. This sentiment is echoed throughout the globe, with a recent study estimating that 6.4 million physicians are needed to meet universal global health coverage (UHC) throughout the world. While this accounts for the full spectrum of medical specialities, family physicians, psychiatrists, emergency medicine, general surgery, cardiology, orthopedic surgery and internal medicine are increasingly required.
For aspiring healthcare workers who are contemplating on which field to specialize in, this information should give you an indication on which career path to take. If you’re one of the above-mentioned specialists looking for a more lucrative career opportunity, here is good news for you: job opportunities for these positions can be found on TrueProfile.io’s website. There’s something about the new year and we all know that it’s not just new beginnings. It’s the extra pay we receive during the holidays. We’ve been saving the whole year round for this special time coz we need something new. Personally, nothing makes me smile more than a brand-spanking new gadget. Is the Oppo A77s, an inexpensive, mid-range phone, a good choice for you to treat yourself generously while indulging sensibly? Let’s find out!
DESIGN
Taking a break from the usual glass-looking plastic phones, the Oppo A77s wraps its back with faux leather that looks and feels premium. Its tiny, 8.044 mm ultra-slim form is complemented by the feeling of a soft, smooth rubber that is pleasant to the touch and grip.
The unit we got hold of is Sunset orange, which by the way is more yellow than orange. For those who prefer their phone dark, the Starry Black option with OPPO’s distinctive Glow design is available. Color shifts when the phone is shifted to a certain angle and it has a matte finish and doesn’t catch fingerprints.
The edges are squared off and remain trendy. Buttons are still positioned where they usually are while the finger scanner is side mounted. Upfront is a dew drop notch containing the selfie camera. Also, a thick jelly case and pin are included along with a power brick.
SCREEN
The OPPO A77s sports a 6.56-inch Waterdrop Notch HD+ display for good viewing and a 90Hz refresh rate for a smooth scrolling experience in different apps and even gaming. Its IPS LCD screen has a resolution of up to 1612 x 720p but upon testing, it does actually look like a 1080p screen.
The resolution may have been sacrificed but not the colors resulting in an amazing viewing experience. Since the screen can only go up to 420 nits of brightness, it will suffer under direct sunlight even if it’s gloomy outdoors. In addition, a dual stereo setup provides clear and loud audio.
PERFORMANCE
The Oppo A77s is more than just a pretty face; it also has some impressive features under the hood. It is powered by a 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core processor which, according to our tests proved its versatility. Regardless of whether you’re binge-watching on your preferred entertainment apps, playing games at high graphic settings, or merely scrolling on social media, it promises a lag-free experience for most occasions.
GAMING
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G which is suitable for gaming. It remains to be popular because of its power-efficient performance. It can handle Genshin impact although it should be at the lowest graphical settings.
BATTERY
The 5,000 mAh battery pack, however, proved adequate for daily use and carrying this gadget. In fact, it is insanely good for lasting 117 hours, based on our test. This is mostly accredited to the low-powered Snapdragon chip. On the other hand, the ability to delete bloatware translates to more usable memory. Being able to delete them is a good option considering that it can’t be done for some phone brands. Color OS 12.1 works as intended and probably contributes to the power-saving feature of the device.
CAMERA
Although it may look like two cameras at the back, only one can be truly functional since the other one is a depth sensor. The 50MP shooter takes high-quality photographs, especially in ideal lighting circumstances. When the lighting is poor, pictures still turn out just ok but a little tweaking and filtering should be sufficient.
It produced amazing shots and it captures colors and details excellently but in some shots colors are flat. All in all, because of the higher resolution sensor, it translates to better video and photos.
NIGHT SHOTS
Photos taken in Night Mode are adequate, however, there may be some noise. It is best suited for a well-lit environment.
INDOOR
The quality suffers from no light to low light even when using Dark mode.
DAYLIGHT
It’s the best setting for the A77s. Photos come out sharp and colors are accurate out of the box without any enhancements.
GROUFIE
You may immediately upload your photos to social media once you take selfie and groufie photos using the 8 MP front-facing camera. Enjoy the various shoot modes Oppo has added to the A77S.
FOOD
The colors are great and there’s minimal editing needed.
VIDEO
Capped at 1080p at 30FPS for both front and rear cameras. The absence of in-body stabilization should be noted, which means you better have a steady hand whether it’s for social media or just footage.
MISCELLANEOUS
The Oppo A77s includes a triple card slot with two nano sim card slots and a micro SD card, and it still has an audio jack. At the current price of P13,999, one might feel that it’s expensive but with the inflation happening, it is rather acceptable. This is a good choice if you’re seeking a mid-range smartphone. The camera works well. The only thing to keep in mind is that some shots require a little bit of fine adjustment. I am impressed by the 33-watt charger, I don’t think I need to say this but if it doesn’t charge quickly, it isn’t an Oppo. Just imagine 50% battery in 30 mins of charge. On a side note, if upgrading from the older A series of Oppo, it has reasonable upgrades and it’s worth buying. However, if upgrading from Oppo A76, it’s not advisable unless you want the Sunset orange color.

More Sony Music Philippines artists join the Eheads nostalgia party with their fresh take on “Ang Huling El Bimbo” and “Superproxy”
Following the positive reviews that SB19 and NOBITA earned for their unique spin on The Eraserheads’ beloved classics, more OPM acts have come together to pay tribute to the country’s biggest and most influential band of all time.
Multi-hyphenate pop soloist Ace Banzuelo reinterprets “Ang Huling El Bimbo” with intimate, soul-crushing details. Transforming the epic anthem into a spacey jam, the young hitmaker peels back the layers of the original with his brooding, bedroom-pop styling. He imprints his own identity to the material, while valuing the lyrical profundity and awe-inspiring bigness of the original.
As Banzuelo puts it, “It’s great that I’m allowed to give it the sound and approach that I want. A lot of the original was kept, but a lot was taken away. This project became meaningful to me throughout the process because I was producing it as if I had written the song.”
Alt-rock newcomers of Mercury and Any Name’s Okay vocalist Sof Abrogar join young hip-hop virtuoso Alex Bruce in reinterpreting “Superproxy,” a cross-genre smash originally performed by The Eraserheads and legendary rap icon Francis M. The newly formed ensemble breathed new life into the timeless tune with a more jagged sonic direction that sounds both retro and futuristic at the same time.
“It was honestly an honor for us to be able to cover an Eheads song and be able to incorporate our own flavor into it,” says of Mercury in a collective statement. “I think we pretty much did our own thing, but left the structures and melody of the song. It was a pretty tricky song to work on given the genre, but we’re pretty happy with how it came out nonetheless.”
Alex Bruce was grateful to be part of this project, and considers the song one of her go-to jams. “This song is a masterpiece. It’s iconic. I wanted to add a little spice, a little flavor, and a bit of contemporary oomph to it. Our reworked version is a fusion of old school and new school.”
Growing up in a big family with a collective love and fascination for ‘80s and ‘90s Pinoy rock, Any Name’s Okay lead vocalist Sof was initially intimidated by the project, but took the challenge to heart in hopes of fulfilling her childhood dream. “Besides what I mentioned earlier about my family, I take particular inspiration from The Eraserheads’ lyricism in Tagalog or Filipino. Even in my own music career with ANO, I try to use Filipino in our songs as much as I can, and I really think the Eraserheads use the language in all its richness and strength. I also love how they are unapologetic in writing about our culture, whether that’s as shallow as UP life or as large as national politics. The band inspires me to really root my own music in my own experiences and in empathy for others’.
Apart from the revamped tracks by some of today’s biggest hitmakers, five of The Eraserheads’ legendary albums were re-released in full 360-degree spatial sound to give listeners a new immersive music experience. These influential records include Ultraelectromagneticpop!, The 25th Anniversary Remastered Edition, Circus (25th Anniversary Remastered), Cutterpillow, Fruitcake, and Sticker Happy.

Rewatch your favorite movies all over again on Disney+ when you #PayWithGCash
We all had our favorite movies when we were kids, along with scenes and characters we will never forget. But sometimes, even stories meant for kids hide a few lines that may not have made sense before but hit harder as an adult.
Rewatching all your favorite movies from your childhood on Disney+ is now made convenient and easy when you #PayWithGCash. From iconic Walt Disney Animation Studio movies like Beauty and the Beast or Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story to the original Star Wars trilogy, you can enjoy these favorites on Disney+ without having to use a credit card or a mobile plan.
If you’re in the mood to walk down memory lane while picking up some pearls of wisdom, here are some lines from movies on Disney+ that really make sense after hearing them again:
“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.” – Rafiki, The Lion King (1994)
The Lion King (1994) had a lot of lessons on growing up and acceptance, especially the concept of ‘Hakuna Matata’ or as translated from Swahili, “there are no problems.” But perhaps, this is one of the greatest pieces of advice from Rafiki and applies to many challenges in life you might have had.
From getting over a heartbreak to unresolved arguments with loved ones, it’s up to you to avoid and forget these memories or to examine what you can learn from them and move on.
“Well there’s the usual things: flowers, chocolates… promises you don’t intend to keep.” – Cogsworth, Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Cogsworth had a funny reply to the Beast asking him what he could do for Belle, but in hindsight, this is an interesting take on romance and relationships in general. As you grow old, you might have realized that people might make promises they don’t intend to keep because they want to impress or woo others.
This line is both a warning for you to be wary about grand statements people make but also a reminder for you to only make promises you know you can fulfill.
“You never forget kids like Emily or Andy, but they forget you.” – Jessie, Toy Story 2 (1999)
Have you ever thought about how much you might have impacted someone’s life? When Jessie mulled about how her owner Emily eventually forgot her, it feels just the same with people you lost contact with over the years.
You might have met a teacher or a random stranger who left a big impression on you only for them to fade away, but there are people too, who you’ve greatly touched that you might not even remember. It’s times like these when it’s important to hold onto our memories rather than dwell on the person we’ve lost.
“Do or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
You may have written it off as a funny figure of speech after hearing Yoda say this for the first time but Yoda is wise in his own ways. Success and failure are realities of the world, and all you can do is your best to have more successes than failures.
“Trying” implies that you doubt you can do something and that you aren’t wholly committed to it.Here Yoda reminds us that there will be failures in life but that should not stop you from committing to your goals rather than always keeping one foot out the door.
“Your overconfidence is your weakness.” – Luke Skywalker, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983)
Similar to Yoda’s famous phrase, Luke’s reply to the Emperor during the finale of Return of the Jedi, might have appeared as a simple retort but has a lot of meaning when you look back on it.
Confidence is important to prevent doubts from clouding your ability to do things but being too confident can also lead to failure. You may miss out on details, like important instructions or extra requirements, refuse to accept further knowledge or fail to see the harm your choices are causing others.
“Don’t be ridiculous, Andrea. Everybody wants this.” – Miranda Priestly, The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
If you’ve watched The Devil Wears Prada, Miranda Priestly tells Andrea how privileged she should feel about living such a charmed life. However, living a life of luxury where everyone does whatever it takes to get ahead is not everyone’s cup of tea.
Success can have an ugly side at times, and some people will do anything to meet their goals at the expense of others. However, seeing Andrea walkaway after getting out of the car, we realize not everyone wants to have to drag others down to get what they want and you shouldn’t have to go down that path to find your fulfillment.
Hopefully, with time comes a little bit of wisdom and you can find it in the most unexpected places. With Disney+ now available in the Philippines, easily pay for your subscription with GCash and revisit all-time favorites with a different perspective.
