Pru Life UK and Prudence Foundation continue to deliver on its commitment to expanding and improving financial literacy coverage in the country, with its flagship financial education programme, Cha-Ching, recently reaching two million Filipino youth beneficiaries, a major milestone that aptly coincides with the programme’s 10th anniversary.
To mark Cha-Ching’s growing reach and transformative impact, Pru Life UK organised a Financial Literacy Summit and Engagement Session on 16 June at Cha-Ching partner school Senate President Neptali A. Gonzales Integrated School (SPNAGIS) in Mandaluyong City.
The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders and key partners, including representatives from JA Philippines and JA Asia Pacific, key officials from the Department of Education (DepEd) national and regional offices, teachers, and students, all of whom expressed strong support and shared commitment to the Cha-Ching and its ongoing initiatives.
“I’m proud to see how Cha-Ching has given young learners the kind of financial education many of us wish we had growing up. Ten years in, and two million students later, the message is clear: the need is real, and so is the impact,” shared Atty. Calvin Kohchet-Chua, Pru Life UK Senior Vice President & Chief Legal, Government Relations, and Sustainability Officer.
Among the event’s highlights was a demonstration of the Cha-Ching session, showcasing the programme’s interactive, experience-driven approach that promotes engagement among beneficiaries.
Beyond celebrating Cha-Ching’s 10th anniversary and 2 million-reach milestones, the event also served as a meaningful occasion to formally recognise and award the programme’s dedicated DepEd partners and Teacher Champions, who have been central to the successful delivery of financial education sessions in schools.
A stakeholder reflection was also conducted where alumni, teachers, parents, and regional leaders were encouraged to share feedback and provide input on the programme, highlighting Pru Life UK’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
Developed by Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc, Pru Life UK’s parent company, Cha-Ching is an award-winning global financial literacy programme that empowers the next generation with the financial knowledge and skills to make informed decisions that build financial wellbeing and a resilient future.
In collaboration with JA Asia Pacific, a school curriculum programme was developed for children aged seven to 12 to instill money smart values, knowledge, and behaviour. Over 3 million children have been taught the curriculum across 16 markets in Asia and Africa with over 87,000 teachers trained so far.
