Laundry Tips for Millennials
Responsibilities is what separates adults from kids. Taking one and handling it successfully makes a person trust-worthy. Someone responsible can be expected to act without aid because they are accountable for their own behavior. Being responsible makes life better. It enables you to handle whatever life throws at you.
Doing home chores may sound boring and petty but getting them done efficiently, lets you accomplish more and will provide ample time for leisure. For majority of adults, doing the laundry is the most dreaded task of all. To save time and effort, a visit to the laundromat is the perfect solution to your laundry woes. Worry not because I have tips for the Generation Y: here is a list of useful ideas to make your weekends hassle free and let you focus on more important issues at hand.
TYPES OF FABRICS
Some kinds of clothing require less frequency of washing such as jeans. Well, it depends how you use it and how dirty and smelly it is. However, undies should definitely be washed often. If you spend so much time outside doing strenuous activities and under the heat of the sun, then shirts and dresses must be washed regularly too.
TRUST YOUR SENSE OF SMELL
It won’t hurt if you take a sniff of the machine before putting your laundry in. You may pick other machines available if it doesn’t smell right. In addition, make sure that no piece of clothing is left by the previous user especially when washing your whites.
White and colored clothes should be separated and it helps if you’re using two laundry bins to divide them, that way loading your clothes in the machine will be faster. Having one final check before washing them will save your white clothes from being damaged by colored ones. Everybody’s time is precious, your day doesn’t need to be spent all day at the laundromat.
Idle time is an opportunity to get things done. It’s the perfect chance to finally read that novel you have been interested in for a long time. It’s also a good time to prepare a list for your next task such as groceries or shopping. Have you been missing from social media? Maybe it’s time to catch up with your friends and family or keep them updated. Your selfies, groufies, and pictures of your beloved cat, (turtle, or rabbit for that matter) may now be uploaded online and your phone will be free from clutter. Utilize phone editing apps to enhance those artistically captured snaps if you’re into mobile phone photography and sell them online, if you wish. Personally, I keep myself busy watching TV series and movies.
CHOOSING THE BEST TIME
Weekends and nights may not be the ideal time to do your laundry since most people have day jobs during the week. However, if you are left with no choice then deciding to go to the laundromat during the off peak hours is the next best strategy. It is important to have a specific day to get everything done instead of having different days for washing whites and coloreds.
BRING A FRIEND
LAUNDRY BASKET vs LAUNDRY BAG
Instead of bringing a bag for your dirty clothes, why not use laundry basket instead? Clothes will have less chance of getting wrinkled. While you’re at it, make sure to fold and stack them properly after getting ’em cleaned. Upon folding, arranging them neatly in their respective drawers or cabinets and not leaving them lying around the house can make your home organized and clean.
PICKING THE RIGHT LAUNDRY MAT
Why do we choose to go to the laundry mat when we have machines at home? There are just some items we can’t wash at home such as comforters or those ultra dirty rugs. Commercial machines will do the job that ours can’t. While some laundry mats operate at specific days only, there are selected ones that are open all the time such as the The Clothes Spin . It is located in Lynchburg, Virginia and is a brand new laundry place that’s open 24 hours a day, 7 Days a Week that’s ideal for the night owls. Feel safe and secured with its staff and video surveillance. Plus, it’s cost effective regardless of the number of loads, washers or dryers. Most importantly, they are equipped with powerful, large capacity washers & dryers: 22 and 24 respectively.
Dealing with responsibilities such as chores specifically the laundry can be a daunting task for most but given the right tools and strategies, anybody can do it with less trouble. Any tips to share regarding the topic? Share your thoughts below.
