Powerpuff Girls Reboot: Ready to save the world once again

Being a 90’s kid powerpuff girls had been one of my favorite cartoon to watch along with dexter’s laboratory. Among the three girls, blossom had always been my main girl. It was because she was level headed, strong willed and I admire her leadership plus she embodied my favorite color which is Red. Last Saturday, October 22 at SM Mall of Asia Atrium, 1:30 pm Cartoon Network launched the reimagined Powerpuff Girls show which was better, bolder and braver than before. Since this cartoon had been close to my heart when PMCM invited me ,I did not hesitate to join in on the fun along with my niece.

The launch was indeed fun and action-filled. As we put our maze-solving skills to the test with the Catch the Villain activity

My niece along with the other kids got to battle and defeat Mojo Jojo’s obstacle track

The kids was also able to unleash their inner Buttercup at the Buttercup Mini Training Grounds.

There was also delightful Power-up popcorn and cotton candy treats. And finally, we saved the best for last because its time to Powerpuff it up- by designing our own Powerpuff merchandise, shirts and bags and more.

“Go Japanese”- Minute Burger Crispy Chicken with a kick of Wasabi

Minute Burger has been an established franchise for more than 30 years and one of the companies that focuses on enhancing the quality of the products that they are serving. Last August 12, 2016 I was invited by pmcm to the launching of their new burger. I had been a fan of their beef pizza burger since they introduced that on their official facebook page. What I love about minute burger is that they conceptualized new fusion of ingredients to their already tasty burger to cater the demand and changing taste of their customers. When I arrived at Alabang 400 club house I was immediately greeted by their welcoming banner which I was not able to take a picture of due to the heavy rain.

Together with leslie corporation they made the launch interactive with their staff demonstrating on how to cook the scrumptions crispy chicken burger . They also made us experience on how to cook and prepare our own.

The crispy chicken burger is a scrumptious premium sandwich wrapped in shredded cabbage with sweet wasabi goodness all in their oatmeal-sprinkled bun. This is a melt in your mouth goodness with the right amount of spicyness from the wasabi that makes you want to taste a piece of japan.

Verdict :

Since I love spicy food I would definitely repurchase this to share with my friends and family. The overall taste of the wasabi does not overpower the taste of the crispy chicken burger. The affordability of the product is one factor that I consider as well. You can avail this on all of their 420 branches nationwide at P58 pesos for a buy one take one deal.

How I Make Worklife Easier

Work life can be strenuous on a modern day Filipina like me. But how do you make work life easier without compromising your health and budget? Here are some tips that I list down to make my work life easier.

1.Decluttering your work space

Decluttering your space can help improve efficiency and focus. A cluttered desk tends to distract us from our workload and the amount of paper works that we see, the same amount of stress can also build up. I personally preferred to work in a clean area as it makes finding supplies, documents fast and also I can prioritize tasks easier because I can move freely. It can also help in building creativity as a clean area is like a blank canvas that you can create new and exciting ideas with.

2. Maximize break periods

Not all of us has the luxury to take long periods of break. 30 mins to an 1 hour is all we need to revitalize our senses. Taking a short nap can increase our memory span. Taking a short walk after lunch or stretching can help in improving our blood circulation and freeing our minds from the daily task ahead. If you are also near a park it is best to go there because a change in environment can help in enhancing our attention span.

3. Eat Healthy

I used to work in an office based area that was surrounded by fast food chains. The key to not get tempted is to bring your own lunch to work and always have a fruit to snack on whenever hunger arises. I find that eating fruits and vegetables can increase the level of energy I give at work. If you like to eat carbs i suggest you go for the whole grain or brown rice given that it expands efficiency as it makes you full yet energetic at the same time. You can also go for small frequent meals compared to eating heavy meals which gives a lot more calories and it tends to make you feel sleepy.

4. Exercise and meditate

Exercising can be done in the form of taking the stairs over the elevator if you are only on the 5th floor area of your building. You can also do stretching before you lift a box of paper works or walk to the paper copier machine to promote blood circulation after a whole day of sitting at your desk. Meditation is also done whenever you are faced with a stressful meeting or an on the spot presentation. Smiling can also help and keeping a positive attitude towards the strenuous task ahead can reduce your amount of stress.

I was invited by Ms. Grace from TAG media last Friday to join the bloggers getaway at Casa Alegria. I have been to Tagaytay numerous times and this was my first time to stay at this place.

What is Casa Alegria?

Casa Alegria is a Bed and Breakfast hotel Located along Ligaya Drive in Sungay North Tagaytay. This place offers a phenomenal view of Taal volcano. It offers luxury and comfort which is ideal for families, friends and events.

AMENITIES

When we arrived I was already in awe of how serene the place was. The look of the place is very minimalistic with its black and white exterior plus the glass paneled windows added a nice touch to the structure. All of the rooms are air conditioned and has a view of Taal lake even if some of them are still being renovated. The pool offers an amazing view of Taal volcano. You can take a dip into the water while having the famous Tagaytay view as your back drop. Or if you don’t want to take a splash on the pool, you can also curl up with a good book or take a nap on the benches at the side of the pool.

This Casa is ideal for family, barkada outings or even office events, as it offers an open dining area with KTV, a billiard pool or you can party the night away on their roof top area which can hold up to 100 people.

FOOD

The pasta that was served during breakfast was delicious. They took it up a notch on their menu the next day which was a serving of their scrumptious tapa and tawilis.

STAFF

The staff was very courteous and prompt while tending to all of our needs. They will make you feel at home with their friendly demeanor and they will make you feel comfortable by going an extra mile to cater to your needs like waking up early to deliver our breakfast.

What I love about Casa Alegria

Even if this place has no wifi or the 3G connection is weak, it still gives you time to share the stunning view of the Taal volcano with your friends and family.

Casa Alegria gives you ample time to explore and appreciate on natures beauty as it has its own luscious garden.

What are the things to remember when booking with iWantSeats

Arrive at least 30 minutes on the pick up point so that you can give ample time for the reservation officer to check your e-tickets.
They do allow re-bookings and cancellation thru their website. Refund depends on the policy of the bus operator. The terms and policy are provided before payment and it should be agreed upon purchase by the passenger.
As of the moment, they have disabled the round trip booking option due to operational purposes. What you need to do is to book your departure and arrival separately.

What I love about this room

It houses a spaceship cockpit with light switches, pilot flight controllers and sound effects so guest can experience space battles and indulge with their space fantasies.
Weapons and costumes are readily available for guests to immerse themselves in the room. This is a geek out worthy moment especially for a star wars fans like me. I was like a kid on a candy store especially when I got to hold one of the light sabers.

FOOD

The guest can enjoy SPACE WARS themed food as well which is creatively prepared by their renowned chefs. Here are some sample of the food. My favorites were the dark side burger and the panatrooper as they were absolutely delectable. Some of the other menus include the jar jar drink, Imperial pasta, trooper onigiri and space wars wrap.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE

We were also granted additional access to some of their themed rooms but this would be discussed in another post. The whole launch was amazing from their surprise laser lights show to having us assisted and being informed of the inclusions and rates of the room. The force definitely awaken my interest in knowing what more they would offer.

Brow game is strong on this one “Benefit Brow Experience”

I always have a love-hate relationship with my brows. Sometimes its on point and sometimes its too thick but often times its just ordinary. I once had it dyed to brown at browhaus because i was too lazy to do my brows everyday. The color stayed on for a month or two and then I was back to having a plain jane brows. I was actually looking forward to this segment of the event as I am one of those girls who doesn’t have a clue on how to handle their own brows. I had tried benefit before but it was for their lightweight hello flawless foundation. I had my eyebrows done by my sister before i went to the event but still i was aiming for a more defined version. Honestly i don’t trust myself with my own eyebrows as i tend to do a betty la fea job at it. One of my biggest concern for my eyebrows is that it has spars and its unshaped. This segment was hosted by make up artist and beauty guru Ana Victorino.

This is what i learned from her before she introduced our Brow guru “Celina”.

My best friend Bianca was chosen as the first model because her type of brows is the one with the spars. Celina applied Goof-Proof Brow Pencil which i agree with Ms. Ana that it was like a tongue twister when spoken. Ms. Celina told us to focus on spars when filling up the brows. This product is made of wax and can last up to 12 hours plus it comes with 6 shades. You read that correctly it really comes with 6 amazing colors that can cater to your brow needs. There were 5 girls that was picked By Ms. Ana to have the brow make over by Ms. Celina. The categories were the girl who had spars, uneven, unshaped,undefined and not groomed. Ms. Celina have done a great job in solving all the girls brow problem and here is the end result.

After that we were given a chance to do our own eyebrows using benefits new line of brow products. There were only 2 products that i absolutely adore. I was actually clueless on what to pick but luckily Ms. Celina was there to guide me. I told her i want a more defined but still natural looking brows. she told me since i already had it shaped all i need to do was enhance it.

‘High Brow’ Highlighter – at first i was hesitant to use this as when i swatch it on the back of my hand all I could see was a pink streak. Ms. Celina told me that this can be used to brighten the eyes. Since i have dark circles around my eyes I opted to use it anyway . So what i did i glided this on top of my brows and I find it creamy and easy to apply. After a few minutes i blended it and indeed it turned out to be natural looking and my dark circles was not that noticeable.

Gimme Brow’ Brow Building Gel- I am every bit in-love with this product as for one it was easier to apply. I love having thicker brows as it makes me look more younger than I already am. My eyebrow goals are Cara Delevingne and Lily Collins. I want a brow version like that without the restriction of smearing or being erased easily by sweat or water. What i love about this is that it gives you the freedom to shape your brows without looking unruly. The fibers of the brush stick to your brows and the formula of the gel was not that waxy so it was easier to apply. It also fills in your spars making the illusion that you have a thicker natural looking eyebrows. Plus it was not that heavy and you don’t have to worry about it being erased as benefit promised that it was waterproof. I actually tested that out first hand after the event it rained like crazy. So when i alight in front of our house i was already soaking wet. i dried myself with a towel and was about to wash my face but then i noticed my brows and it was still divine.

Here is the result of my amazing brow experience with benefit. I would definitely purchase the products mentioned above. I have recently found out that benefit offers brow services like waxing and threading. I would like to try that really soon.

Woman Influencer Wednesday Miss “Ashologie”

If you are given a chance to be a role model, I think you should always take it because you can influence a person’s life in a positive light, and that’s what I want to do. That’s what it’s all about.

Let me introduce my Woman Influencer Wednesday Miss “Ashologie” a youtuber who is currently in korea. I met her yesterday on twitter when i commented about her electric blue hair. I mean the most extreme hair color that I could do was an ash blonde hair with light blonde highlights. Not everybody can rock an electric blue mane and get away looking gorgeous in the process. We started out talking about my blog and her vlogs and I did check out her youtube channel and what do you know 3 minutes into the video and I am already hooked .In general I find her witty and nice. That was when I realized that she was my spirit animal in terms of being an anime lover, gamer, and her nearsightedness was what i can relate to. Below is a link of her video that speaks volumes about embracing one’s individuality. In this video she talked about her insecurities and what she did to improve it. She talked about confidently coming out of her comfort zone and exploring different aspects of her life that she might not be good at but is still willing to take on the challenge.

She talked about seeing her flaws and turning it to a more positive outcome. What i like most about the video was when she started talking about her love for planning even if some of the events in her life doesn’t go as planned. I want to introduce this lovely woman because she inspires me to be better at my craft. Before launching this blog i had my own insecurities and inhibitions. Like her i see my flaws and was too afraid to get out of my own comfort zone. But seeing on how she pursue her calling gives me a comforting feeling that i can still do my very best when i worked hard. This is the first certainly not the last of her videos that I’m going to feature in my blog. You can also check out her cafe review vlog. I don’t know if i am the only one who noticed that she somewhat looked like nadine lustre. In the near future when i already gather enough courage i would also post my own vlog and collaborate with her. We already planned on doing the ultimate bingsu challenge with a disclaimer of major brain freeze included.

5 things that made me happy

Having a harry potter marathon

Everyone has a comfort book mine is harry potter so no matter how many times i read or watched the movie i still get the feeling of fluttering butterflies in my stomach. This book never gets old with me it might get me feeling a little bit nostalgic but it makes sense because i literally grew up with these movies and the volume of harry potter books released each year. Nowadays whenever i have an urge to explore hogwarts again i just travel to maginhawa and order 1 butterbeer at the nook cafe which im going to give you the review on one of my upcoming post.

2.Getting personal errands done

Nothing beats the feeling of completing personal errands on just the start of a new week. I really do hate to cram specially when work gets in the way as well. It really helps to have a planner and a mobile organizer . So if you tend to forget your own errands or just need a reminder of what needs to be done then my upcoming post about decluttering will help you out.

3. Having a new perfume

I have to thank the ladies at the chemworld booth for the free spin prize. Last saturday when i attended the blogapalooza event i was planning to buy a new perfume after the event and out of sheer luck i won. An in depth review of the product would be discussed on another post.

4. Receiving good news that one of my bestfriend passed the LET exam

I know the nerve-racking feeling of waiting for the result of a board exam. When i took my NLE i had a fever with a temperature of 38.8. I was contemplating on whether i pass or fail during the 2-3 month timeframe before the results came out. I was actually sleeping when the results came in and nina called to say the she passed. I was tembling when i log on to the prc website( this was the make or break moment for me). When i saw my name i literally jumped, called my mom and cried. It was one of the best moment of my life. To god be the glory indeed. So again congratulations to all new teachers. Keep honing the new generation for a better education system.

5. Disney released their beauty and the beast trailer

Let me have a moment to fan girl over the fact that emma watson is the best choice for belle. Although while watching the trailer i always envisioned tom felton (aka. Draco malfoy) to be the beast. I don’t know i just ship them together specially when emma admitted that she had a crush on tom felton during the filming of the harry potter films. So back to the trailer it somewhat gave me a harry potteresque feeling when i saw the castle but i think its brilliant that they don’t show much of what will happen unlike other trailers. The cinematic and the music is on point so i think this would be a brilliant movie. You can watch the trailer below and leave a comment as well.
