Medical Experts to Share Knowledge at Mom and Baby Expo this April 2017 with just a few weeks away, moms and moms-to-be are all geared up for the first ever Mom and Baby Expo happening this April. Organized by the Perinatal Association of the Philippines (PAP), the exhibit showcases all facets of comprehensive perinatal healthcare such as products, services, technology and new methods, all of which are intended in aiding Filipina mothers and their babies.
One of the highlights of the Mom and Baby Expo 2017 will be a series of talks from perinatal experts pertaining to maternal-fetal and newborn topics.Some of the topics to be discussed during the event are tips on how to get pregnant; vaccines needed for expecting moms as well as their babies; exercise and proper nutrition for a healthy pregnancy; preconception tests and Breastfeeding Pearls Exercise. Other topics include skin care protection for women who are conceiving; importance of prenatals; and ways to safeguard against diseases like vaginal infection, UTI and STDs.PAP President Dra. Belen Velasco notes the relevance of taking time to listen to the experts during the talks. She explains: “Our objective is simple yet powerful: to impart advice’s and traverse new ideas moms and expectant moms can use that will ultimately strengthen their maternal bond with their babies”.
For his part, PAP President Dr. Diosdado Mariano says “The Expo is an opportunity to analyze and seek solutions to existing issues pertaining to maternal-fetal and newborn areas in an engaging and fun way.”
The Mom and Baby Expo 2017 will also showcase pocket workshops, fun and informative activities, selling booths, food stalls and raffle prizes.The Mom and Baby Expo 2017 will be held on April 21-23 at the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls 2 and 3. The three-day event is made possible by the PAP, in partnership with its trusted affiliates- the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecology Society (POGS), Philippine Pediatrics Society (PPS), Philippine Society of Newborn Medicine (PSNbM), Mother and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines (MCNAP), and the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines (IMAP).

Light Network channel 33 is achieving greater innovation as it begins its official broadcast on Digital Television this coming March 2017! In an interview with Engr. Antonio Soriano, the Vice President of Technical Operations for Light Network, he said that he is excited for the upcoming Digitalization of Light Network, because the channel had long since been prepared for this huge digital switchover. “Tayo ang unang nag-convert from Analog to Digital transmitter. Wala nang test -broadcast. Official broadcast na agad.” He also said that not all channels are ready to make the digital “switch”, making Light Network the first channel in the Philippines to migrate to the exciting domain of Digital TV, while maintaining its frequency on Channel 33.
According to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), once the innovative technology of Digitalization is fully implemented, it would not only deliver better image and sound quality to our television channels, but it would also be able to provide features such as datacasting, multi-channel platform, One Seg, and most importantly, the Emergency Warning Broadcast System (EWBS), which is used to transmit nationwide warning announcements in times of earthquakes, tsunamis, or other high-alert disasters.
Engr. Antonio Soriano further stated that these features are just few of the many benefits of Digital TV.
