Filipino singer/producer Shoti is making waves with his crossover hit “LDR” topping various streaming charts in Southeast Asia. The sped-up version of “LDR” alone has been holding its ground in key markets within the region, peaking at Spotify Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia at No. 13, 49, 61, and 147, respectively.
The laid-back tune recently went viral thanks to its sped-up version, which inspired countless dance covers on TikTok and provided a soundtrack to a new generation of listeners who are caught up with the relatability of the lyrics.
With the song delivered in English and Cebuano lyrics, Shoti continues the tradition of asserting cultural and geographical identity to mainstream music, while remaining current and true to his vision as an artist. This prompted Sony Music Entertainment to sign him as one of their new artists on their esteemed roster, and eventually co-release what could be one of the biggest local pop/hip-hop songs in recent memory.
“The Sony Music Entertainment family treats me not like a business partner but as a member of the family,” shares the 16-year-old bedroom pop sensation. “They’ve been guiding me in terms of putting my music out there and reaching as many people as I could. If we have problems, they make sure to work on them ASAP.”
Shoti’s latest single, “LDR” is accompanied by a music video helmed by Anthony Hejie Suralta. Released yesterday on YouTube, the visuals showed the young artist and his friends in a happy, carefree state, giving out roses to random girls as a form of appreciation. Shoti reveals that the concept behind it was impromptu and casual, with his friends cherishing a cheerful moment together.
“I told our music director that I wanted something candid, just me and my friends laughing,” the Cebu-based artist adds. “It was super easy working with them because they are my family friends.”
In just one day after release, the music video for “LDR” debuted inside the top 20 of YouTube’s Trending For Music chart and is currently gaining traction at a rapid pace.
Shoti’s “LDR” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch the music video here.
Parents have different ways to make days more enjoyable for their kids. Once they’re done with their classes and homework, their little ones are usually free to take a break and do fun activities.
There are a number of quirky and creative activities that kids can do at home with their parents or siblings. They can share a pack of Lush candies as a treat while playing or creating something amazing. Here are some exciting and creative after-school activities you can try with your kids:
Design colorful bracelets
Encourage your kids’ creativity by making beaded bracelets (or other fashion accessories they like). All you need is a set of colorful beads and strings, so you and your kids can craft personalized bracelets.
Do energetic TikTok dances
There are various TikTok dances that are currently popular. If your kids want to film a playful TikTok video, you can join in and even practice steps with them.
Make slime from scratch
Slime is essentially a squishy toy that you can make at home using store-bought kits, or by using materials at home while following a video tutorial online. The result is a soft toy with a stretchy consistency that’s satisfying to the touch, and comes in various colors.
Build a soft pillow fort
Pillow forts are a great way to give your kids creative freedom and teach them the value of teamwork. These soft forts can become a place to play with parents and siblings, or rest after a hectic day at school.

Just like these fun activities, Lush candy can bring enjoyment to kids and even parents with its soft, chewy texture. It comes in two delicious flavors, Strawberry Milk and Chocolate, that can delight everyone’s tastebuds.
Whether they’re at school or at home, kids and parents alike will love chewing on Lush wherever they go. Lush is available at your nearest supermarket and sari-sari store, as well as URC’s Shopee and Lazada stores for only Php38.00 per pack of 50.
Picture this: Your lola trying to figure out how to use a smartphone, or your lolo trying to book a checkup online. Now, Globe is giving you a chance to capture these golden moments and share them with the world through the “#SeniorDigizen: Teach Me How To ‘Digi’” TikTok contest!
In celebration of Grandparents Day and Elderly Week, this contest is about making technology fun even for senior citizens. It’s about strengthening family bonds while bringing seniors to the digital age with the help of their tech-savvy children and apos.
“We believe that technology should be accessible to everyone, whether you’re young or old. With this contest, we’re celebrating family, learning, and the joy of discovery as we push for digital inclusion. We’re here to prove that it’s never too late to go digital. We hope to transform our beloved senior citizens into senior digizens,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.
It’s so easy to join? Here’s how:
Simply create a TikTok video where the younger generation between 15 and 50 years old teaches their senior parent or grandparent a tech trick or two. It could be anything from setting up a new app, using a mobile wallet, or even mastering the art of emojis. The key is to keep it creative, engaging, genuine, and heartwarming.
Submissions should be between 30 seconds and 5 minutes with a one-liner caption, and set to “public” access on TikTok.
Tag @globeofgood and use the official hashtag #SeniorDigizen. Multiple entries are allowed, but remember, you can only win once.
Video should be original, fun, and creative while following the trendy TikTok videos where situations unfold in real time from the viewer’s point of view. Both the senior citizen and the younger participant must be present in the frame.
Use only commercial sounds available.
Spoken parts must use clean language (no profanity please) and avoid mention of other brand names under patent.
Video should not show harmful actions or violence.
It would be great if the video shows Globe’s signature color blue and steer clear of other colors not associated with the brand.
Video must also adhere to TikTok’s community guidelines and should promote positivity and respect.
Best to capture video in high-resolution. Videos that are low resolution, pixelated, or shaky won’t be considered.
“Through this initiative, we hope to send a message to our senior citizens: Madali ang digital. Kayang-kaya niyo ito. At nandito kami, kasama ang inyong mga anak at apo, para gabayan kayo. We call on our Lolos and Lolas, their children and apos to take part in this exciting contest that bridges not just age gaps, but most especially, the digital gap,” said Liza Reyes, Public Relations and Communications Strategy Head at Globe Group Corporate Communications.
Entries will be judged based on creativity, engagement, and overall content. The Top 25 will receive PHP25,000 worth of Globe products and other exciting prizes. Those who complete the #SeniorDigizen Ambassador program can receive up to PHP75,000 worth of Globe products.
Winning seniors must also be physically able to join an exclusive learning session to be hosted by Globe and complete the two-month #SeniorDigizen Ambassador program, which will be announced at a later date.
Submission of entries will open on September 10, 2023, 12. a.m., and will be accepted until 11:59 PM on September 30, 2023. Come October 2023, stay tuned to Globe’s Globe Of Good TikTok and Globe of Good Facebook page for the exciting announcement of winners.
So, what are you waiting for? Get lolo and lola to “digi” on TikTok and prove that age is just a number for the #SeniorDigizen.

She has finally arrived! Yes, Lesha is heading her way to become today’s generation rockstar. And in just a short manner of time, she’ll be able to share with you the latest song that’s about to drop the airwaves and for sure you’ll love it.
But apart of from dropping her soon to be hits, Lesha has already snagged a few career highlights in just a short span of time. And the 26-year-old independent singer slash songwriter slash music producer is very much thrilled and honored for all the breaks that she’s receiving.
For one, she has snagged a spot of having her own billboard in the dreamiest places on earth– New York Times Square! Whew, just imagine seeing a larger-than-life photo splattered on a high-rise NY building. That’s so awesome!
Lesha shared about that episode, “I freaked out the moment I got the news! I always dreamed of having a billboard with my name and face on it but I never imagined it to happen so soon and on such a large scale! It was literally a dream come true to see my face on a large billboard representing The Philippines in the middle of New York Times Square for Spotify Equal.”
Recently, she has received not one but two nominations for The New Hue PH awards giving significance in recognizing and celebrating the creators and visionaries who push the limits of music videos.
Lesha was very ecstatic to be given such recognition. She shares, “I had no expectations when I got nominated so I’m extremely grateful for New Hue PH for recognizing me at their awards this year for Best Female Artist and Best New Artist. Their platform is all about showcasing upcoming artists/DJs and uplifting the OPM scene which gives us all a chance to come together as a community.’
Aside from that, she just hit the first million mark for her pain infused anthem, Ciao Bella song on both Spotify and Tiktok platform recently. Wow, that’s a lot of listeners repeating the song in their playlist, and it isn’t a surprise that a lot would relate to this hymn because of the melodies and lyrics that hits the heart straightforward.
“I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes. It’s a huge milestone for me to finally hit my first 1M on a song. I wrote, produced, and filmed the music video of Ciao, Bella in my bedroom during the peak of the pandemic so it’s a cool feeling to see how far I’ve come in my career, and it always reminds me of my humble beginnings,” Lesha revealed.
So many good things coming along her way, Lesha remains optimistic on more progress career wise for the next coming days.
Likewise, Lesha continues to be a game changer. She’s very fortunate to have worked with the best producers and writers in the world. She has learned a lot of new techniques writing wise and they also created a space for Lesha to be extra experimental with the tone of her voice jumping from one genre to another.
With this, Lesha shared some of her exciting experiences when it comes to experimenting music, “I have a couple of favorite sessions but the most memorable one was with LA producer Dela, singer-songwriter KAJO, and James Reid when we wrote “Skin2Skin” (still unreleased but I normally perform this song live cause the crowd goes crazy every single time I play this song!). We were in our home studio in LA, and it was also my first time working with Dela. He came up with some nice sad chords and I told him how I wanted to make a danceable sad pop song. James and Kajo hopped on to help with some melodies and around 3 hours later we finished the song and knew it was an instant hit. It was such a fast song to write, and we were all just on a roll! Dela and his fiancé Krizia recently visited Manila to write more tracks with me and the other Careless artists so we were able to cook up a couple more songs that are part of my upcoming releases this year!”
Expect Lesha to be fiercer when it comes to her musical choices. Comparing how she has presented her music from before and now; Lesha is gearing towards a new approach.
“Personally, I think there’s a big jump from my previous works versus the ones I’m set to release in terms of the writing style and genre. As I’ve been experimenting with the Pop Punk genre, I’ve just naturally gravitated toward it the more I wrote new songs. My dark and edgy side is getting amplified with these new songs!”
See Lesha’s fiercer and more direct style when it comes to handling herself and her music in the next few days to come. For sure, she will surprise you with her upcoming songs set to be launched in the next coming months!

Through an immersive experience, the financial superapp recognizes the Filipino’s hard work and shares its latest suite of lending products to help them reach their goals faster
Libre lang mangarap as they say. But there is power in our dreams, and turning them into reality is a lot less difficult when you get the help you need.
This is what leading finance superapp GCash shared in GCash x Fuse: Borrow for Tomorrow, an immersive product showcase held in Maybank Performing Arts Theater last August 30. Anchored by its goal of financial progress for all, GCash, together with its lending arm Fuse Lending Inc., reintroduces its lending products GLoan, GGives and GCredit and shares its latest extension: the GCash Sakto Loans, a nano-loan that enables GCash users to easily borrow small amounts as ‘pambale.’
Staged by Yaparrazi Events and written by Cathy Azanza-Dy, Borrow for Tomorrow showcased stories of everyday Filipinos, set in Barangay Pag-Asa. The stage draws inspiration from the vibrant and colorful elements of a typical Filipino neighborhood – where dreams, big and small, are made.
Martha Sazon, CEO of GCash, opens Borrow for Tomorrow, with stories of financial progress powered by GCash
“With everyday Filipino stories at the core of our interactive product showcase, we draw inspiration from two concepts that are uniquely pinoy. While the idea of ’tingi’ is often seen as taking small portions needed for the moment, we recognize that even these smallest ways of support can help fuel the biggest of dreams,” said Tony Isidro, CEO of Fuse. “All these, coupled with our innate characteristic of bayanihan, help us champion collective strength in reaching dreams. It is through these distinct similarities that we are able to come together as a nation and weave stories of progress.”
Barangay Pag-asa’s hardworking residents
In their humble and cozy home, supportive mother Mila wonders how she could replace her son’s charger-dependent laptop without having to use up her savings. For ‘pangmalakihan’ purchases, GCash offers GGives, its light and flexible installment plan which allows eligible users to purchase big-ticket items amounting up to P125,000 and pay for it in up to 24 months. With zero downpayment and zero additional documents needed, hardworking parents like Mila will be able to upgrade their lives without breaking their budget.
XP Villa, Head of GGives, presents GGives’ Power of Zero: zero credit cards, zero additional documents, zero downpayment, and zero interest for select merchants
Outside, breadwinner and side hustler Rowena has yet to receive her salary and commission and is looking for a ‘pantawid’ so she could pay off her utility bills and buy groceries. GCredit, powered by CIMB, is an always-ready credit line of up to PHP 50,000, which can be used as ‘pantawid’ not only during petsa de peligro, but also during everyday emergencies. Through its easy application process, easy interest of as low as 5% per month and easy payment terms, breadwinners like Rowena can seamlessly pay for utility bills and groceries to cover everyday expenses.
Anna Gatmaitan, Head of GCredit, shares how GCredit is an easy ‘pantawid’ through its easy application, easy interest terms and easy payment terms with a 10% minimum amount due
Carinderia owner Teresa and delivery rider Isko dream of finally having enough capital to level up Aling Teresa’s Cafe. For aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners, GLoan offers instant cash up to P125,000 straight to eligible users’ GCash wallets, which can be used as ‘pampuhunan’ for starting or expanding a business, from upgrading equipment to upskilling
Kevin Yu, head of GLoan, presents instant cash loan GLoan, aimed at empowering small businesses through instant cash and instant approval
Meanwhile, at the sari-sari store, Lito needs to borrow two kilos of malagkit rice, hoping that his friend Inday will let him off the hook yet again. Like Lito, a lot of Filipinos still have to look for ‘pambale’ when their budget gets tight, but feel ashamed of having to do so out of the fear of being judged. Not everyone is also lucky to have work colleagues, friends and family who could lend them money. Through GCash Sakto Loans, GCash offers users a convenient option to borrow small amounts which they can use to get cash or pay for any of their GCash transactions, whether online or offline.
Baby Aquino, Chief Product and Strategy Officer of Fuse, introduces Sakto Loans, a nano-loan extension of lending products GGives and GLoan
Saktong Pambale with Sakto Loans
Nine out of 10 Filipinos borrow money, but loans still remain a taboo, with most individuals feeling ashamed about being perceived as unable to stick to their budget, or being a burden to other people. Fuse understands that borrowing money is a reality of life and more Filipinos need access to fair, easy, and inclusive loan options, which is why it has helped over 3 million Filipinos achieve their dreams by disbursing over PHP 100B in loans since 2016.
Tony Isidro, CEO of Fuse Lending, shares how the lending arm of GCash aims to provide more Filipinos with access to fair loans
“We believe that Filipinos deserve better access to fair loans to help them realize their dreams faster. At Fuse, we want to make borrowing money less complicated so they could spend their resources fulfilling their goals, big or small,” says Isidro. “We do this by providing them with lending products with zero hassle from application to disbursement and payment, zero additional documents, zero waiting time for eligible customers and zero interest for select popular offline and online stores.”
With the addition of GCash Sakto Loans to its extensive lineup of lending products fit for different needs, GCash and Fuse hope to further reduce the stigma around borrowing, as users no longer need to feel ashamed about having to look for ‘pambale.’
GLoan Sakto and GGives Sakto allow users to borrow money as low as PHP 100 up to PHP 1,000 with a 15% processing fee and no interest, and pay for it either on the 15th or at the end of the month. Sakto Loans serve as an entry or buena mano loan for those who are not yet eligible to borrow through GLoan and GGives.
Like how the characters go out of their way to help each other get through their day-to-day needs and fulfill their bigger dreams, Borrow for Tomorrow magnifies the indomitable spirit of Filipino bayanihan. GCash and Fuse hope to be there for all the Milas, Rowenas, Teresas, Iskos and Litos, giving them the extra boost they need so they can upgrade their lives, get through day-to-day expenses and fulfill their dreams.
Users may access GGives, GLoan and GCredit through the GCash dashboard or find it under “Borrow.” No GCash yet? Download the GCash App on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Huawei App Gallery. Kaya mo, i-GCash mo!

Representing the Philippines on the Global Dance Floor: National Winner, JXYB Heads to Red Bull Dance Your Style World Championship
In a collision of genres, cultures, and personal flair, the Red Bull Dance Your Style National Finals concluded last September 2 at 5th Ave. Bonifacio High Street, where the 8 finalists from the Cebu and Manila qualifiers competed against 8 wildcards in an electrifying mix featuring unique styles and techniques.
Red Bull Dance Your Style is a unique competition showcasing creativity, individuality, and exploration of the different dance genres. Unlike traditional competitions, Red Bull Dance Your Style stands out as a unique 1v1 showdown with the only judge being the crowd itself. The crowd decides who gets to move further in each round, and ultimately determines the champion. This, coupled with unpredictable music, mastery, and dance prowess, makes Red Bull Dance Your Style competition a unique experience, with every performance consistently keeping both the audience and dancers captivated and engaged.
Half of the Top 16 hailed from the Cebu and Manila qualifiers, which took place last July 15 and July 22, respectively. The other half were wildcard entries with different backgrounds, performance styles, and accolades. Together, they battled it out on the stage for a chance to represent the Philippines on the world stage.
Each finalist gave it their all throughout the National Finals, but in the end, Louries Dhztine ‘JXYB’ Bernardino secured the title of champion. Having bested the competition with their signature Krumping technique and personality, JXYB is now on track to represent the Philippines in the World Finals.
“Red Bull Dance Your Style is really challenging. In a normal battle, you only have to please three judges but in Red Bull Dance Your Style you have hundreds, even thousands of people to please. So what I do is I just try to show my skills and at the same time enjoy it, and hope that I get to reach the crowd with that and they see my soul with my performance” said Louries Dhztine ‘JXYB’ Bernardino.
JXYB battled it out against the first-ever Red Bull Dance Your Style Philippines Champion, Mickey Paolo Yatar in the semi-finals. The showdown elicited loud cheers for the then title holder and JXYB, shining the spotlight on the individual prowess of both dancers.
“Mickey has so much crowd control. He knows how to please an audience, and that’s something I look up to him for. Something I also want to develop for my future performances,” said JXYB.
JXYB also went against wildcards “Heidra” and “O-shady” who brought out a range of hip-hop and pop grooves, but the finale performance against fellow krumper Juan “BLVCKZIK” Carlo De Leon brought out the largest cheers in an adrenaline-pumping 1 on 1 where JXYB ran off stage and through the center crowd, catching every beat and transforming the energy and applause into a routine made to remember.
With the winner of the National Finals now secured, the spotlight shines even brighter on their journey as they prepare to represent the country on the global stage. The highly-anticipated Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals is set to take place in Frankfurt, Germany, in November 2023. Dancers representing different countries will come together to showcase their unique flair and celebrate different styles of dance.
Red Bull dance consultant Lema Diaz says Red Bull has partnered with the best of the Philippine dance community and is more than ready to train JXYB with the best local dancers in preparation for the World Finals.
“We work with the best of mainstream and underground dancers and we have the full support of Red Bull and of our partners for this journey. We also know that there are so many skilled dancers in the Philippines who can compete globally. We are locally going global, and these people are not new to the world stage. They have been competing and carrying our flag around the world. There is no need to train abroad when the best is already here with us. Red Bull has given us a platform and I’m so thankful for them to have given wings to the Philippine dance community,” said Diaz.
For JXYB, the World Finals would not only mean endless training, but also collaboration with the Philippine dance community, and finding inspiration in his personal experience in the local dance battle and freestyle scene in the country.
“For the finals in Germany, I’ll look to the many inspiring people from the Philippine dance community. We are so advanced here in dancing that even as I have won Red Bull Dance Your Style, I know that I may still lose in other, maybe even smaller, battles locally. That’s how good our dancers are. That’s how advanced the Philippine dance community is when it comes to freestyle battling but that’s a big advantage for me – I come from a good community of dancers and I’ll be taking that experience to Germany,” JXYB said. “I plan to maintain my style and enjoy my dance more but I’ll for sure train every day and begin inserting new techniques I can use,” he added.
JXYB is set to represent the Philippines on the global stage this November in Germany. For updates and news regarding JXYB, Red Bull Dance Your Style, and upcoming Red Bull events, visit https://redbulldanceyourstyle.com/ and the following social media pages:

In addition to the thin and lightweight, the HONOR Magic V2 features a first-of-its-kind Super-light Titanium Hinge and a new HONOR’s proprietary steel, providing added robustness and durability to the hinge mechanism. The HONOR Magic V2 also earns the coveted durability certification from SGS, by enabling the hinge to withstand more than 400,000 folds, ensuring a lifespan of up to ten years for folding 100 times a day. The HONOR Magic V2 features a triple rear camera setup that includes 50MP Main Camera (f/1.9), a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera (f/2.0), and a 20MP Telephoto Camera (f/2.4). The front-facing dual camera setup features two 16MP Cameras (f/2.2).
Incorporating human-centric innovation, the HONOR Magic V2 also supports industry-leading 3840Hz PWM Dimming technology minimizes eye strain, ensuring comfortable viewing even during extended use. For the first time, the HONOR Magic V2 supports the Parallel Space, which not only allows work and life data to be stored separately and data to be securely isolated, but also makes it possible to independently operate dual-space apps in parallel, much like a second phone was inserted into the foldable phone.
