The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is providing Huawei users with more options to maximize their time and do convenient banking transactions through its mobile app now available on HUAWEI AppGallery.
Starting February 9, 2024, Huawei users can download the BPI app on the HUAWEI AppGallery and enjoy the convenience of mobile banking, anytime and anywhere. The BPI app allows users to access and manage their accounts, send money, pay bills, and more, all from the comfort of their mobile devices.
“Having the official BPI app on HUAWEI AppGallery allows users to enjoy all our features, enabling them to transact conveniently, efficiently, and securely wherever they are. This launch enables us to cater to more customers and continue to become their trusted financial partner. Our commitment is that the BPI app will keep getting better, so they can expect more improvements to serve their evolving needs,” said Fitzgerald Chee, Head of Consumer Platforms, BPI.
Aside from daily banking transactions, the BPI app enables cashless payments, allowing users to pay in stores and restaurants by scanning QR Ph codes. The app also provides top-notch security, as users can approve online transactions with Mobile Key, set transaction limits, and enable biometric authorizations, among others.
Huawei users can also do more with BPI through Track & Plan in the BPI app. This is a first-in-industry personal finance management feature that gives customers AI-powered insights based on their spending and saving habits. Unlike other apps, insights from BPI app’s Track & Plan stems from their actual usage of the BPI app, making it more personalized and actionable. They can say goodbye to random financial tips that may not be applicable to them.

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) presents a ‘FLAMES’ way—of protecting against scammers.
“No one can really predict when and how a scammer attacks. We must always be careful not to fall for their schemes,” said BPI Enterprise Information Security Officer and Data Protection Officer Jonathan John B. Paz.
BPI’s ‘FLAMES’ reminder consists of simple cybersecurity tips that account holders can do to keep their accounts safe and secure especially this Valentine’s Day:
F-riends? Family? It is better to keep confidential details like your PINs and passwords a secret (even) from them.
L-ove to share your latest updates online? This is okay but be sure to set boundaries. Avoid oversharing, especially on social media, for your and your loved ones’ safety.
A-nger, excitement, and curiosity are some of the most common emotional trigger’s scammers latch on to for their social engineering scams. Too much of these feelings can also be used as bait to manipulate you.
M-arriage between online and offline cybersecurity practices is a good habit to develop. It is not enough to be careful with your actions online only but not offline, and vice-versa.
E-ngage only with trusted accounts. When planning to use e-commerce, do background checks first and read reviews about the sellers or product. Legitimate Facebook pages have the blue verified badges on them.

Through a series of videos that showcase these five well-known local bars, Tanduay provides a glimpse into the vibrant and dynamically evolving Filipino cocktail landscape.
“We also wanted to show people how Tanduay Brands can elevate simple cocktails and make them special,” said Ngo.
At the same time, he added, Tanduay wanted to feature the bartenders who tirelessly work at creating amazing cocktails for customers to enjoy.
Beginning with The Spirits Library, which is one of the most popular bars in Poblacion, the cultural and heritage district of Makati. In the video, its bartender, Enrico Adolfo is seen preparing An Ode to the Sun, which is made with Tanduay Asian Rum Silver. He combines and mixes the rum with dashes of Spanish bitters, Poire William Eau de Vie, and Cocciti Americano, and creates a flamed mist using yellow chartreuse for an unforgettable concoction.
A different video features Polilya, another popular bar in the area, with its bartender Esse Magsino. He creates the Dear Maria cocktail with Tanduay’s premium Especia Spiced Rum. He makes it with pandan syrup, pineapple syrup, ginger cordial, fresh lime juice, and angostura bitters served with crushed ice — a rich and aromatic tropical delight that captures Poblacion’s vibrant vibe.
Pablo Bistro, the dining haven in Salcedo Village, Makati known for its excellent Spanish menu, is also included in the Cocktail Culture series. In the video, its top bartender, Chris Francisco, can be seen preparing Caipirinha with fresh lime juice, sugar, and Tanduay Asian Rum Silver to create a smooth concoction with an exciting flavor profile.
Japonesa, the must-visit Poblacion restaurant that specializes in Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, meanwhile, features the Asian Refreshing in Cocktail Culture. Its bartender, Jason Alinsunurin, mixes brown sugar, cucumber, mint leaves, Cointreau, Macadamia syrup, lime juice and cucumber peel with the Tanduay Asian Rum Gold — a not-to-be-missed cocktail when visiting Japonesa.
Then there’s 205 BGC, which came up with the On Holiday cocktail. Its bartender, Jam Labay, can be seen creating a sweet symphony of simple syrup, lime juice, and the bold character of the Tanduay Asian Rum Gold. It’s a cocktail that is a journey for the palate, with every flavor note unfolding like a story for customers to savor.
