Return to the plane where it all began for the first chapter of Magic: The Gathering’s new multi-set saga called Dominaria United!
Wizards of the Coast will be releasing Dominaria United, the latest set for the world’s best trading card game, Magic: The Gathering (MTG), for tabletop on 9 September. The first of a multi-set storyline taking place within Magic’s original plane, Dominaria, the new set foreshadows a climactic showdown of heroes and villains in a world on the brink of invasion. The set, coinciding with the launch of MTG’s 30th Anniversary celebration, contains 281 cards.
Exclusively for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, players who pre-order at least PHP5600[1] on Dominaria United products can receive a limited-edition Token collectable. The token is the first of a three-part series set, with varied transparency, and the full series will form a battlefield mural. Each customer will be entitled to one token only. More details will be available on Magic: The Gathering’s Facebook page.
An apocalyptic threat stirs within Dominaria, and an ancient yet familiar enemy has at last revealed itself. Led by the Praetor Sheoldred, the Phyrexian army is hellbent on invasion after many years in the shadows. With the return of fan-favourite Planeswalkers Karn, Ajani Goldmane, Liliana Vess and Jaya Ballard, Dominaria United sees the beginning of an insidious invasion which threatens not just the destruction of Dominaria, but the entire Multiverse.
Significant not only for its world-defining story arc, Dominaria United also kicks off MTG’s 30th Anniversary celebrations. Starting from Dominaria United and continuing through to the next eight Standard set releases, Wizards Play Network (WPN) stores will receive 3-4 foil retro-frame promos showcasing classic cards from throughout MTG’s history. These can only be received by players who attend Prerelease events.
Dominaria United will also continue a fun way to experience Magic with the return of set integrated Jumpstart booster packs. Suited to both newcomers and veterans looking to play matches on the go, Jumpstart is an exciting method of quick deck building designed to get players casting spells from the moment they open their boosters. Each pack, showcasing 10 unique themes from Dominaria’s world, will contain 20 cards that can be combined with any second Jumpstart booster for a rapid, limited-lite format of play.
The celebrations don’t end there. A treat awaits players who score themselves Dominaria United’s collector boosters with Lost Legends: a throwback to Magic’s origins where cards pulled directly from the 1994 ‘Legends’ set can be opened. Over 240 cards of any rarity are up for grabs from Legends, from Elder Dragon Nicol Bolas to the classic Moat.
Magic’s original fantasy setting will additionally be showcased with stunning Stained Glass Full Art Lands, Legendary creatures, Planeswalkers, and frightful Phyrexian cards. Each will be available in foil and non-foil treatment within Set, Draft, and Collector Booster packs.
Dominaria United will be available as Draft Boosters, Set Boosters, Collector Boosters, Jumpstart Boosters, Commander decks and Bundles.
P-Pop Kings SB19 make a spectacular entrance with the release of their eagerly awaited single, “WYAT [Where You At].” Produced by SB19’s very own Pablo and his real-life brother Josue, the catchy new track delivers another show-stopping moment that cuts across boundaries and generations.
According to the Billboard chart-topping quintet, “WYAT” is a song that chronicles the reconnection of a bond after a very challenging phase in life. “We’ve been performing for almost half of our lives together, and due to the pandemic, our world was suddenly put on hold,” shares Pablo. “I felt a disconnection among the group brought about by the lockdown, and I’ve wanted to reach out to them through this song.”
Propelling their artistry forward with a masterful blend of disco, electronic, and pop music, the five-member hitmaker sets the tone for a new era by incorporating the elements of the past with accessibility that is relatable to the present time. As Josh puts it, “Our team often tries to do something different from what we’ve done before; we’re always evolving.”
“WYAT” first made rounds during SB19’s sold-out online concert Our Zone last year, and was re-recorded at Pablo’s studio for a fuller, more polished touch. It marks their first official release after being on a hiatus since launching their 2021 EP, Pagsibol.
The infectious bop is accompanied by the release of a music video that is built around the themes of time travel and connection. Joyriding through history with shiny, retro-spiked colors and exciting visuals, the MV stays true to the vision of the song—thanks to Justin de Dios’ creative direction and the group’s collaborative contribution to the brainstorming process.
“Everything we put out is connected,” Justin says. “It all started from the teaser during the present day then we went back to the past, from the 50s (diner) to 70s (roller disco) to the 90s (arcade) and back to the present.”
SB19 ‘WYAT’ cover art
To mark the arrival of “WYAT,” the Filipino pop phenoms are set to embark on their biggest local and international tour to date. WYAT [Where You At] Tour kicks off on Sept. 17 at the Araneta Coliseum, to be followed by a series of shows in Clark, Cebu, Davao and more.
In the following months, the tour extends globally as SB19 heads to multiple countries – US, UAE, and Singapore to name a few. International A’TIN can expect SB19 to drop by their city starting October 2022.

Partnerships between the fintech sector and Local Government Units (LGU) and the public sector should be strengthened in order to better serve the unbanked population, ensure financial inclusion, speed up innovations, and eventually achieve economic growth.
This year’s conference with the theme “Innovative and Inclusive: The Future of Digital Financial Services” made a bigger splash this year with a hybrid set-up held at the SEDA Hotel in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and streamed simultaneously online via Zoom, with public sector partners and members of the media in attendance.
During the event, industry leaders and top government officials, led by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe Medalla, gathered in one venue to share crucial insights on the future of digital financial services.
“The Philippines has made progress in digitizing retail payments while broadening financial inclusion. Recently, the BSP observed that more Filipinos are choosing to pay through digital means. In fact, the share of digital payments to total retail payment volume in the country grew from 20.1 percent in 2020 to 30.3 percent in 2021. The government continues to lead the path to digitalization with 96.7 percent of its total payment transactions and disbursements already in digital form,” Medalla said.
Given the rapid growth of digital payments and services, the conference also put a spotlight on how LGUs can integrate safe online payments into their services.
“The adoption of digital payments by the local government is, I think, really, the best way to expand the digital space in the country – where the local government really opt for e-wallets and payments in paying taxes or business registration. That’s something that LGUs can do a lot more,” Department of Trade and Industry assistant secretary Mary Jean Pacheco shared.
In her speech, GCash president and CEO Martha Sazon acknowledged that there’s still a long way to go to fully achieve financial inclusion.
“There’s still so much more we can do. We ask for your support once again as we continue to work to make a positive impact in the lives of Filipinos, especially those who need our help the most. We look to you, our partners, as we continue together onward and upward with a shared vision of a better future for Filipinos.” Sazon said.
Addressing the importance of partnerships between public and private sectors, GCash chief customer officer Winsley Bangit also said that joint effort from these sectors is crucial in its pursuit of finance for all.
“At GCash, we remain steadfast in being a partner with the central bank’s drive for financial inclusion as well as digitalization. And of course, your presence here today really shows that the partnership between private and public sectors are really important in nation building, in making sure that nobody gets left behind, especially sa economic recovery ng ating bansa. More and more Filipinos are realizing the benefits of digital payments, specifically 66 million Filipinos or around 4 out of 5 adults now put their trust in GCash”, Bangit said.
While more and more Filipinos are becoming more receptive to digital financial services, GCash also takes this as an opportunity to continue improving and innovating its services. For instance, beyond convenient digital payment options, GCash also offers millions of Filipinos a wide range of financial services from insurance to investment, and loans, and lifestyle needs with GInsure, GInvest, GLoan, GGives, GLife, and so much more.
In terms of reaching more communities, including micro, small, and medium enterprises, tricycle drivers, and market vendors which have a big contribution to the acceleration of economic growth of the country, GCash also helps in easy access to cashless payments through the promotion of the government’s Paleng-QR Ph initiative.
Through continuous collaboration with LGUs and the public sector, GCash remains firm in its mission of making financial inclusion a reality for all Filipinos – building a reliable digital ecosystem that fosters sustainable economic growth.
BPI Direct BanKo Financial Inclusion and Microfinance Head Rodolfo Mabiasen, Jr., BPI Direct BanKo President Jerome Minglana, Philippine Trade Training Center Executive Director Nelly Nita Dillera, and BPI Foundation Executive Director Owen Cammayo signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the BPI SEAL-SEGA program during its launch at the PTTC Building in Pasay City.
BPI Foundation, the social development arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), sealed a partnership with BPI Direct BanKo, the microfinance arm of BPI, the Philippine Trade Training Center – Global MSME Academy (PTTC-GMEA), and the Department of Trade and Industry – Regional Operation Group (DTI-ROG) to empower micro and small enterprises (MSEs) through its Small Enterprise Acceleration Lab – Business Expansion thru Training and Application or SEAL-BETA program.
BPI SEAL-BETA is a comprehensive integrated training program designed exclusively for qualified micro and small enterprises affected by the pandemic that seek to rebuild and expand their businesses. It aims to equip MSEs with a resilient outlook on business, and to assist entrepreneurs in creating their sustainability plans and in rebuilding and expanding their businesses through access to loans from BPI Direct BanKo.
In 2020, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported that 99.51% of all businesses across the country belong to the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) sector. Micro enterprises account for 88.77% or 850,127 of the total MSMEs.
The representatives of BPI Foundation, BPI Direct BanKo, and PTTC together with the micro enterprises present during the launch of SEAL-SEGA.
For this pilot run, SEAL-BETA will focus on micro enterprises located in Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Eastern Visayas, SOCCSKSARGEN, and the National Capital Region (NCR). “Micro and small enterprises play a crucial role in our country’s economic development”, said BPI Foundation Executive Director Owen Cammayo. “With the recent resumption of economic activities, it is our social responsibility to provide support to the ailing MSME sector. The BPI SEAL-BETA program aims to capacitate and help qualified micro and small enterprises expand and grow their businesses amid this ongoing pandemic.”
According to DTI-PTTC Executive Director Nelly Nita N. Dillera, this partnership is among DTI’s initiatives to design programs that will help micro enterprises survive the pandemic and support them to thrive during these challenging times. “Skills shift is not a challenge but it should be seen as an opportunity,” she said.
Ensuring that micro enterprises will be financially capable, BPI Direct BanKo is committed to providing easy, convenient, and affordable loans to fund their operations and help them grow their business.
“Ang access to finance ay kadalasang hindi available para sa mga maliliit na negosyante. Kaya nais naming ipaalam sa mga micro entrepreneurs na nandito ang BanKo, ang micro-finance arm ng BPI, at meron na kayong ka-partner sa pagkuha at pag-access sa dagdag na kapital para sa inyong negosyo, (Access to finance is often not available for micro entrepreneurs. We want to inform you that BanKo, the micro-finance arm of BPI, is here, and that you now have a partner in accessing additional capital for your business,)” said BPI Direct BanKo Financial Inclusion and Microfinance Head Rodolfo Mabiasen, Jr.
There will be 250 MEs who will participate in the 8-week boot camp. They will then showcase their plans through a business pitch to an esteemed panel of judges. All qualified MEs may avail of a loan from BPI Direct BanKo.
The business challenge is open to micro entrepreneurs who are 25 years old and above, and whose enterprise’s asset size is Php3 million and below. Meanwhile, the training will start on September 7, 2022.

THE rainy season is once again upon us. And yes, it is that time of the year again when umbrellas and raincoats are necessities whenever we go out to avoid getting wet. However, this also means that common coughs, colds, and flu are even more prevalent.
For instance, the rhinovirus, commonly known as the cold virus, thrives in a low-temperature environment, according to a study spearheaded by Yale. The same research also revealed that a person’s immune response is minimized when the body’s temperature is lower than normal.
That is why we need an extra effort to strengthen our immunity against viruses. Otherwise, you might have to take multiple sick days at work or even miss out on all the fun. To help keep the coughs, colds, or influenza away, Santé, a premier natural health and wellness product and services provider, shares ways to boost your immune system this rainy season.
Eat more fruits, vegetables
Loading your body with vitamins and minerals from plant-based foods is your first armor in reducing inflammation in your body due to its antioxidant properties. According to a Harvard study, a high-fiber diet, including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, assists in growing and maintaining the body’s beneficial microbes, which improve immune cell activity.
Add fermented foods to your diet
Fermented foods you can cop are sauerkraut, kefir, tempeh, kombucha, yogurt, and kimchi, a favorite Korean side dish. While it adds zest to any regular meal, fermented foods are rich in probiotics that support digestive functions.
Exercise daily
If you are reading this right now, maybe this is the sign to start breaking out some sweat. Working out does not have to be lifting those kilos of dumbbells or enrolling in a gym membership right away. Start small by brisk walking, light jogging, or simply following a 30-minute beginner exercise video online from the comfort of your home. A simple exercise can do wonders in keeping your blood pressure, weight, and cardiovascular health in check.
Keep yourself hydrated
Does drinking water boost the immune system? The answer is: yes. Drinking more water helps your body to stay hydrated and prevent toxins from building up. If there is also the healthiest beverage to quench your thirst, it would probably be water since it does not have any calories or artificial sugars.
Sleep some more
A study revealed that sleep-deprived people are prone to get a cold after contracting the cold virus. It is advised for most adults to achieve seven to eight hours of good sleep each night to help the body fight viruses and recover from diseases.
Drink your vitamins!
Topping everything on the list, the key to added immunity is drinking your supplements. For one, Santé gives you a potent antioxidant for maximum immune health – Santé Daily-C Plus.
Santé Daily-C Plus is the doubled-up version of Daily-C. It is ascorbic acid neutralized with sodium and fortified with zinc which helps to boost the immune system while providing an extra level of protection. With its Vitamin C component, it aids in decreasing Vitamin C deficiency and assists iron absorption, collagen formation, and wound healing in our bodies.
As it has a pH range of 7.0 to 8.0, Santé Daily-C Plus is gentler on the stomach and safe for daily consumption. It comes in a 500mg natural vegetable capsule, making it ideal for those living the vegetarian lifestyle.
“Many diseases may arise during the rainy season that’s why everyone must keep their health in check, especially now that we are still in the middle of a global health crisis. However, heavy rains make it difficult to go to the marketplace to buy your daily fruits and vegetables. Having Santé Daily-C Plus makes it easy to have strong immunity against colds, coughs, and influenza without the risk of going out,” said Joey Marcelo, chief executive officer of Santé.
Aside from the Philippines, Santé Daily-C Plus is now available in Singapore.
Santé Daily-C Plus and other Santé products are natural health and wellness products offered by Santé. Dedicated to developing a comprehensive selection of everyday healthy products, Santé designed all its goods to improve people’s quality of life, to live more, and do more.
Hamilo Coast embraces sustainable tourism at the core of its philosophy and shows how beautiful beachfront homes can harmonize with nature and the environment.
Hamilo Coast, is a weekend retreat for the country’s affluent elite, and is also a promising model of sustainable eco-tourism techniques. It is a premier beach resort town in Nasugbu, Batangas.
Touting 5,800 hectares of prime seaside development, Hamilo Coast is a project of SM Prime’s Costa Del Hamilo, Inc. (CDHI), which carefully integrates residential, commercial, leisure, resort, and institutional land uses in the sprawling estate. But beyond its vast scope and stunning vistas, Hamilo Coast adopts sustainable tourism at the core of its philosophy and shows how beautiful beachfront homes chimed with nature and the environment.
This year Hamilo Coast marks its 15th year of productive partnership with the conservation group World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF). Hamilo Coast and WWF have been working together on key areas for sustainability—coastal resource management, the use of renewable energy sources, solid waste management, mangrove reforestation, ridge-to-reef management, and environmental awareness.
This long-standing collaboration with WWF signifies Hamilo Coast’s eagerness to pursue eco-tourism and sustainability while maintaining international standards for leisure property development.
Ms. Imee G. Francisco, Vice President and Head of CDHI Projects and Operations, takes pride in the partnership’s objectives. “More than building and maintaining a beautiful community, we seek to create and sustain a world that future generations can enjoy. To help serve this end, CDHI continues to develop Hamilo Coast without compromising the quality of wildlife living around it.”
Hamilo Coast and WWF will focus on addressing the major components of waste management, which include the assessment of solid waste, water, and wastewater management practices, the promotion of foodshed farming systems, and the formulation of the environmental management plan. Apart from these, Hamilo Coast and WWF will continuously work on programs that will help conserve, protect, and nurture the environment.
Mangroves are the first line of defense for coastal communities, stabilizing shorelines by preventing erosion and providing natural barriers to storm surges, flooding, and hurricanes. As effective carbon storage, mangroves absorb six times more carbon than mature tropical forests, making it fundamental in helping to slow down the effects of climate change.
Finally, Hamilo Coast and WWF further push for environmental awareness by celebrating occasions that show respect for biodiversity. The annually held Earth Hour, wherein for one hour people are urged to shut down electricity to make a substantial difference in energy consumption. Individuals, establishments, and organizations also come together on Coral Triangle Day to shed light on ocean conservation and the ways we can protect and preserve the world’s epicenter of marine biodiversity.
For one, Hamilo Coast and WWF’s Ridge to Reef program declared three of Hamilo Coast’s 13 coves–Pico de Loro, Etayo, and Santelmo–as Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). These are coastal zones where human activities are strictly regulated to guarantee their long-term conservation. Declaring more MPAs would also mean enlarging Hamilo Coast’s scope in safeguarding more marine ecosystems and resources. Hamilo Coast also continues to administer a mangrove reforestation program in its 24-hectare mangrove belt—one of the largest in Nasugbu. Here, Hamilo has planted over 50,000 propagules hand-in-hand with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines.
Hamilo Coast and WWF further push for environmental awareness by celebrating occasions that show respect for biodiversity such as the Coastal Clean Up
Moreover, the development boasts the largest volunteer effort for the ocean’s health, made possible with the International Coastal Cleanup, where people gather on the Pico and Santelmo beaches to gather trash and document information on the collected debris.
For all these sustained efforts, WWF has awarded Hamilo Coast with the Longest Sustainability Partner Award, recognizing the development’s continuing commitment to sustainable tourism and its positive impact on the Philippine tourism industry.
Francisco affirms, “CDHI is proud of how far we have come at Hamilo Coast with the help of WWF. This inspires us to do even more, in the hopes that our efforts will make it possible for future generations to witness the beauty of nature as we see it today.”

By encouraging the spirit of bayanihan, Filipinos have consistently overcome hardships. When Shopee originally formed Shopee Bayanihan, its umbrella CSR arm that seeks to use technology to benefit its customers, sellers, partner riders, and all Filipinos around the country, it was with this sense of community and unity in mind.
Today, Shopee Bayanihan continues to evolve as a multifaceted program with various initiatives that cater to the needs of Filipinos. Each of these initiatives are grounded in its main mission to better the lives of the underserved through technology—to be there for every Filipino through every hardship and victory.
In line with these efforts, Shopee highlights the inspiring stories of five individuals, and how Shopee was able to support them in their time of need and help improve their lives. Watch the full video here.
Roel, Shopee Xpress Partner Rider (TransOrient Agency): A hardworking father who strives to provide
Roel’s journey with Shopee Xpress started when he joined the TransOrient Agency and was placed in the Bacoor Hub. Prior to that, he admitted that he was struggling to make ends meet. By becoming a Shopee Xpress partner rider, he was able to provide for his family and send his children to school. “Kapag ako sumuko pa, paano na sila? Wala namang lalaban sa pamilya natin kung hindi tayo,” Roel says.
Roel shared that one of his happiest moments was when his son asked him to wear his Shopee Xpress uniform at his graduation ceremony. He realized that his son was very proud of him, and appreciated everything he had done. “Nabago ng Shopee ang buhay ko at ng pamilya ko. Ako ay isang proud Shopee Xpress rider!” says Roel.
Virginia, Shopee Bayanihan: Typhoon Odette Beneficiary: Conquering fear as one community
Virginia is one of the many beneficiaries of Shopee Bayanihan’s Typhoon Odette Support. She shared that her experience with the typhoon left her frightened and worried about the future of her family and her home. “I was shivering at the thought of what could happen because both my husband and I are sick. I didn’t know what to do. All I could do was pray for the strong winds to stop.” she says.
When Shopee Bayanihan’s Typhoon Odette Support rolled out to affected areas in Cebu, Bohol, and Surigao, Virginia and her fellow residents of Tinago, Cebu, were one of the beneficiaries that received relief packs and other essentials. “We’re grateful that help came to our community. We were not really expecting this, and had no idea that Shopee was going to be there in our time of need,” she says.
Mark and Angel, Shopee Sellers: Fighting for their family by driving their business forward
Mark and Angel nearly lost their daughter to biliary atresia, a rare condition that affected her liver and required her to undergo an expensive procedure abroad. In order to provide for their family and help pay for Avery’s maintenance medicine, the couple decided to start their business, Live Pillow. Before taking their business online, they struggled to generate sales. “May mga araw po talaga na wala kaming benta, at sobrang lungkot po namin ni partner nun,” shared Mark.
When they put up a store on Shopee, they were able to reach new customers, generating thousands of orders. Now, Mark and Angel were able to expand their business by having their own staff and warehouse. “Dahil sa Shopee, nagkaroon kami ng pangalawang pamilya at ang staff po namin ‘yun. Lahat kayo, lahat tayo dito, pamilya.” says Angel.
Jocell, Shopee Girl ng Pook Dagohoy: Finding the best deals to support her family
Known as the “Shopee Girl ng Pook Dagohoy”, stay-at-home mom Jocelle shared that it was hard for her to find a way to save due to her family’s debt. “Nalubog kami sa utang. Nung nagka-pandemic, nawalan ng trabaho yung asawa ko. Nangungutang na lang ako ulit para may maibayad sa utang din namin,” says Jocell.
Through Shopee, she was able to save on all her essentials and bills. “Na-diskubre ko na pwede akong umorder ng mga diaper na naka-sale sa Shopee, kaya sobrang nakakatipid ako. Yung ShopeePay bills payment naman po doon po ako nagbabayad ng ilaw at tubig para makakuha ng cashback,” she shares.
Today, Jocelle is able to manage her expenses better, as she is able to get better deals on her family’s needs on Shopee. “Parte na talaga si Shopee ng buhay namin,” says Jocell.
