LexMeet President/Founder Atty Marlon P. Valderama and Former Solicitor General – Atty. Florin “Pilo” Hilbay
Seeking legal advice on lawyers is now made more convenient and affordable as LexMeet (www.lexmeet.com), a real-time on-demand online legal consultation webspace where lawyers and clients meet to solve legal problems is now launching its mobile application.
Starting November 2018, the LexMeet App can now be downloaded in Google Play (http://bit.ly/LexMeetbeta) and its IOS version will be soon available for download in App Store.
The LexMeet Team and Guest Speakers. (L-R) President of Development – Gino Carlo Cortez, AIM Dado-Banatao Incubator Executive Director – Prim Paypon, Vice President of Design – Redg Fernandez, Vice President of Marketing – Mel Jamero, President/Founder – Atty Marlon P. Valderama, Former Solicitor General – Atty. Florin “Pilo” Hilbay, and Ako OFW Chairman – Dr. Chie Umandap
LexMeet solves difficulties on clients getting proper guidance on their problems that need legal remedies. Aside from fake attorneys lurking in the web as well as the nuances of Philippine law, there are also the rampant misinterpretations of common legal issues that just add unnecessary confusion to a prospective client seeking legal advice. In addition, the lack of access—physical or online—to a lawyer also compounds the issue, especially for Filipinos working overseas. All these concerns are what LexMeet wants to address – lawyer and legal service accessibility to the masses – by making online legal consultations readily available for Filipinos everywhere without breaking the bank.
Lexmeet Founder Atty. Marlon Valderama
Using the LexMeet app couldn’t be any simpler. After the client registered their personal details for free, they can purchase credits—for as low as P500- via Paypal, Dragonpay, Coins.Ph and later on Google Pay payment gateways. Clients can initiate a legal consultation request where LexMeet will match their legal problem with a lawyer specialists that meets their requirements. Example, when a client submits his/her legal problem about the title of his/her condominium unit, LexMeet gives him/her a lawyers list with specialisation in Condominium Law. Clients have to submit in advance their legal inquiries and provide their stories, objectives and questions as well as supporting documents through LexMeet sign-up forms. All consultations are conducted over video or voice call— possibly imposing for non-tech-savvy folk, but nevertheless more effective than a lifeless chat window. Their credits are automatically paid to their matched lawyer after the meeting ends. Ratings and feedback mechanism help ensure that LexMeet’s crowdsourced network of 250 lawyers provide quality consults, which seems to be the case as it boasts over 7,500 clients and counting.
LexMeet, a wordplay on the Latin word for “law” and workplace verbatim for setting office meetings is founded by Atty. Marlon Valderama, Managing Partner of Valderama Law Office and the country’s pioneer when it comes to e-lawyering. He introduced the e-lawyering concept as early as 2010 in his law office website, E-Lawyers Online.
“LexMeet serves as the Uber of lawyers, where client can seek lawyer’s advice by a mere click. Instead of a Uber vehicle matching with the nearest rider, LexMeet is where client’s legal problem is matched with the lawyer’s expertise, location and language and we serve as a bridge for them to meet via video or call conference,” Atty. Valderama said.
Since its inception in 2017, Lexmeet serves as the online go-to-place by OFWs and SMEs.
“As we all know, Philippines have more than 10.23 million migrant workers scattered all over the world. With Filipino diaspora, there is a demand for legal services for the legal issues left behind by our migrant workers such as marriage, support and custody issues, inheritance, investments, among others. Also, we have so many SMEs, almost 1M now, who are needing legal guidance from lawyers. The lack of online facility to help our OFWs and SMEs in solving their legal problems is our prime motivation on establishing a primary hub of e-lawyering, ” Atty. Valderama explained.
LexMeet has been recently awarded as the Best Life Helper in 2018 ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards as it was recognize in its promising goal in making legal consultations inclusive for all Filipinos.

Coca-Cola returns to Bacolod with music and a vision of a World Without Waste
This year’s Masskara Festival in Negros Occidental celebrated more color and more music as Coke Studio brought together the Negrenses and the artists of this year’s Coke Studio in one special stage, hyping up the volume and heat along Lacson Street.
The Coke Studio stage was headlined by singer and heartthrob Sam Concepcion, and local bands Cali Island and Aire Band. But more than the music festival, Coca-Cola Philippines also brought to the city of smiles its World Without Waste campaign which seeks to collect every bottle and can that it will produce by 2030, while also including recycled materials into its packaging.
Specially designed trash bins were distributed around key festival areas to help the public segregate recyclables from other wastes, and in the process, help partners Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation, Inc., Masskara Foundation, IPM-Construction and Development Corporation Waste Management, and the Department of Public Service Local Waste Management in keeping the streets clean and litter-free despite the large volume of people. Throughout the five days of festivities, almost 80 kilograms of PET bottles were collected for recycling.
“There is so much to be done in order to effectively reduce the waste that we produce, and every small action makes a difference. By helping the public in segregating recyclables from trash, we are slowly making them see that recyclables like PET bottles are readily accessible resources that can and should be given second life and not just end up in our landfills and oceans after one use,” said Jonah de Lumen-Pernia, Coca-Cola Philippines Director for Public Affairs and Communications.
The main streets of Bacolod City were painted with the ubiquitous red banners bearing the iconic Spencerian script font that spells out the well-loved beverage. The heart of Lacson Street was cordoned off Friday afternoon as the huge Coke Studio stage took shape for the night’s festivities.
“The Masskara Festival is an important occasion for us at Coca-Cola Philippines as it is an opportunity to strengthen our partnerships with various stakeholders in Negros as well as give back to our consumers by joining the festivities,” de Lumen-Pernia said.
The beverage brand, through its social responsibility arm, Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, inked several partnerships with government and non-government organizations to help improve the sugar production of small sugar farmers. The partnerships include providing irrigation, high-yielding variety, and technical training for the farmer beneficiaries.
Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI), operator of the country’s largest rotisserie chicken chain, has been recognized as the Most Innovative Company of the Year during the Asia CEO Awards 2018, held recently at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.
As the grand winner in the category, BAVI was cited for its efforts in innovating both the quality and variety in the way its chicken products are roasted and presented to the Filipino market.
In 2017, BAVI became the country’s first and only poultry integrator to introduce an all-natural, antibiotics-free chicken through its pioneering No Antibiotics Ever system. This eliminates the use of any antibiotics throughout the entire poultry production to ensure chickens are naturally healthy and safer to eat.
It was also through innovation that BAVI was able to expand its customer base, becoming the dominant market leader in the roasted chicken industry with more than 1,200 rotisserie stores nationwide.
In 2009, BAVI ventured into the food retail industry through its Chooks-to-Go oven-roasted chicken. With the brand promise of litson manok na ‘masarap kahit walang sauce’, the company introduced a new way to enjoy cooked chicken without the traditional sauce or gravy.
BAVI also introduced Uling Roasters Litson Manok, a fresh take on traditional charcoal-roasted chicken in 2013. This was followed by the launch of Reyal Litson Manok which boasts of unique butterfly-cut chickens and flavorful sweet-spicy sauces.
“We are honored with this prestigious recognition especially since innovation has always been at the heart of BAVI operations ever since we started as a poultry integrator company in Cebu and Davao. Like in most markets, our leadership in the local poultry industry relies mostly on how we innovate our manufacturing and operations systems and how we present our products to consumers. More importantly, innovation has been our way of ensuring that more Filipinos will enjoy our quality, healthy and affordable chicken products,” said Ronald Mascariñas, BAVI president and general manager.
The Asia CEO Awards is the largest business awards event in the Philippines and Southeast Asia, representing the grandest alliance of local and international business people ever created to promote the Philippines and recognize business achievers on the world stage.

Imparting the legacy of a life well lived is almost every person’s aspiration. With this in mind, AXA Philippines, one of the country’s top insurance companies, organized recently a panel discussion to introduce its latest product and inspire its Filipino clients to think about creating a legacy for the future, free from financial worries.
Asset Master is designed as a single-pay, investment-linked insurance plan that allows a person to build a diversified investment portfolio of local and global investments — a solid foundation on which to build a financial legacy.
“Asset Master is your gateway to truly diverse global investments. We want you to leave a lasting legacy for your loved ones so they can continue to live well after you’re gone,” says Rahul Hora, AXA Philippines president and chief executive officer.
True to the affair’s theme, guest speakers were invited to talk about the importance of leaving a lasting legacy. Entrepreneur Nico Moreno of homegrown watch brand Ibarra Watches, third-generation jewelry designer Janina Dizon, and renowned artist and glass sculptor Ramon Orlina — each highly successful in his/her field — shared their insights and personal experiences during the panel discussion.
A physicist by training, long-time watch aficionado Moreno thought of creating the first Filipino watch brand. “The scientist in me fell in love with the art of watchmaking,” Moreno says. “And, being a staunch nationalist and an admirer of Dr. Jose Rizal, I thought of the brand Ibarra (the main protagonist in one of Rizal’s famous novels, Noli Me Tangere).”
Dizon comes from a family of well-known jewellers and designers. Jewelry making is in her DNA. “It runs in my blood. My grandmother was a jeweller, a trade she passed on to my mother so I’m the third generation now,” says Dizon. “My mom would let me sit next to her in her shop, let me interact with her clients. I would also sort stones and count diamonds.”
Orlina is a licensed architect and practiced architecture before moving on to art. “When there was a decline in my architectural practice in the ’70s, I began to pursue art, which had always interested me. I started with painting on glass because modern architecture is steel and glass,” he says.
For these accomplished individuals, living well means being happy with what you do, having peace of mind, and enjoying a fulfilling family life.
Moreno says, “A happy worker enjoys what he’s doing,” while Dizon thinks, “Living well is having the luxury of time as well as being secure in whatever the future will bring.” For his part, Orlina says, “I’m pleased to have a happy married life, a wife who has been supportive, and kids who excel in their fields.”
To ensure that their respective legacies are preserved for the future, Moreno has a 10-year plan for his business, while Dizon feels it is vital for her children to carry on her mother’s legacy, especially now that the firm has marked its 40th anniversary. Orlina, on the other hand, opened a museum in Tagaytay City to showcase his works and those of other sculptors.

Aside from its flagship offering of the 2-in-1 sa Laki, Nuot sa Ihaw Sarap Chicken Inasal, Mang Inasal also offers Pinoy favorites such as Pork BBQ, Palabok, Lumpiang Togue, and Halo Halo.

A homegrown fare that traces its origins in Pampanga, Sisig was first defined in a Kapampangan dictionary in 1732 as a green fruit mixed with vinegar, salt, pepper and garlic. From being just a salad, Sisig has evolved over the years into a main dish with sizzling plate and chopped meat as its defining elements.
The Mang Inasal sizzling meaty sarap Pork Sisig is made of a generous serving of flavorful, tender and juicy pork chunks with yummy crunchy chicharon and tangy white onion. Offered as one of the fastfood’s PaboritoMeals (PM) for only P99, Mang Inasal Pork Sisig comes with a cup of rice, and an option to have unlimited servings of rice.
Mang Inasal Pork Sisig is perfect both as solo meal and for sharing with your family or barkada. And if you are more into seafood, there is also the Mang Inasal Bangus Sisig for you.
Probably the most scrumptious and affordable Sisig in the Philippines, Mang Inasal Pork Sisig might just be the ultimate Pinoy comfort food you are looking for. Definitely a must try!
